It is Thursday afternoon and I continue to waver on the prediction tommorrow?? I do know that as I turn on the NFL network Alicia Keyes and some Jordan Sparks are being interviewed about singing the national anthem?? Hasn't this coverage gotten a little out of hand? Alicia lookes good but I think I could fit into a pair of Jordan's jean's!! Oh well, the game will go on and the hype will too!! Right now I am leaning towards the side of New England as I think Mr. Personality (Belichick) will stop those kickoff returns and win the special teams battle and if that happens I think it is game, set, match and HISTORY!!!! We all know the last time these two battled it came down to Kickoff returns as to keeping the Giants in the game. That stops and the crystal ball says: Pats 34 Giants 13
P.S. check out USA TODAY Sports Weekly!! Great story about Royals Fever!!
Well, got to run Tom Petty is taking the podium!!! Can't get enough....

Super Bowl XLII
Isn't it time to call the Super Bowl by the number...ie '42' instead of Roman Numerals..ie 'XLII'? Just a thought. We've been talking on the 'Doug and Daddy Show' about Sunday's Super Bowl and we will make our predictions on Friday. The general public and national media are all trying to find a way that the Giants can keep it close, and some are picking New York to win. I don't think that will happen, but what do you think? Chime in on the blog with your thoughts on the Super Bowl or any other topic.
Conference basketball tournaments wind down this week, and sub-districts are right around the corner. Who's headed to state? Give us your opinion and we'll discuss your picks on the show!!

LSU National Champs...Bo gets a ring
The college football season has come to an end and LSU has been crowned the National Champions....much to Daddy's delight. Now Bo Pelini will have a ring to flash in the face of all future potential recruits in his new job as head coach at Nebraska. My question is..."When will Bo receive his next Gatorade bath?" Some believe Nebraska will be playing in the Big 12 title game AND a BCS game next season. I think that's a bit much. Let's hope the Big Red make a bowl game, because it seemed very odd not covering a Nebraska bowl game this season.
Staying with college football...LSU is the National Champ and I have no problem with that. There is no perfect system...even a playoff. At least one item became clear this year, if you play in a major conference you don't have to run the table to play for the title. How about the Big 12?!?! I think a 5-3 bowl record is great. The only disappointment was the play of Oklahoma. A&M was a play away from victory, and Colorado (who was not good enough to be in a bowl game) almost made a major comeback.
We welcome your thoughts and don't forget the 'Doug and Daddy Show' weekdays at 11 on ESPN 1460 and 1550 am.

A New Era For 'Doug and Daddy'
Hello 'Doug and Daddy' Fans!!
2008 introduces us to the 'Doug and Daddy' Blog. I'm not much on blogging or hanging out on internet chat rooms, but I know many of you are. The bosses assure me that our new blog will give all a chance to chat more about some of the topics we discuss on the show. So...this will be our first blog. I'm guessing I will be doing most of the blogging, but Daddy (Tony) will chime in from time to time.
With the college bowl season winding down, not many people on the national scene are talking about the Big 12...except to say Missouri should have been in the BCS. I wonder if they would have said the same had Arkansas won. The Big 12 is doing well, and Colorado almost made an amazing comeback and Texas A&M fell two yards short. Where do you think the Big 12 sits in the national picture? Also give us your comments on the National Title game between LSU and Ohio St. I'm leaning towards LSU, and of course Daddy is more than leaning!!
I hope you enjoy and use this site to comment and keep in touch with the 'Doug and Daddy Show'. Don't forget that all of our shows are available on podcast at espnsuperstation.com.
Take care,
Doug
